Tim Jordaan of Aventure Power Catamaran has provided first details on a new 32-footer built for the hardcore fisherman who runs offshore two to three days at time.
Actually, the newest Aventure is offered in two models:
- The Family Sportster with a 4-ft x 9-ft wide cockpit to serve as an entertainment area with barbeque, as shown in the drawing.
- The hardcore fishing version shown in the photos.
Both models can accommodate six adults in large beds, with a shower forward to port and toilet forward to starboard, both with wash basins. A complete galley with pull-out fridge, 2-burner stove, and wash basin with hot and cold water is part of the package.
The Sportster has a bimini with screens and teak decks.
Powered by 225-hp outboards on Armstrong brackets, Tim says the Aventure 32 cruises at 23 knots at 3,500 rpm, getting 2.6 gallons per hour per engine, 28 knots at 4,400 rpm and 36 knots at 5,900 rpm.
The new model has a traditional assymetrical hull design, good clearance between the tunnel and waterline, draws only 16 inches, and weighs 4.6 tons with engines and 50 percent of fuel and water. With a length of 32 feet and a beam of 10 feet the Aventure can be trailered, with or without permits, depending upon jurisdiction.
With the higher steering position above the double bed, the Aventure should be a dry boat, offering excellent visibility all around, and providing for a larger, 12- by 9-foot cockpit on the fishing model. But it certainly looks tall.
Bridge clearance is 10.5 feet, 14.0 feet with the radar arch up. The arch swings down out of the way for trailering or getting under low bridges.
The Aventure 32 is priced at US$198,000 with two 225-horsepower four-stroke outboards.
Aventure is based in Monaco and its boats are built in South Africa. In addition to the new model, Aventure offers a 50-foot family cruiser, a 48-foot sportfisher and a 48-foot kite-assisted motorsailer.
